How to Apply

  • If you are applying to move because of a medical condition you will also need to complete a Medical Application Form as well as registering on UChoose.

  • Applicants who apply on medical grounds will receive a home visit so that their situation can be correctly assessed.

  • Disability should not create a problem in any of our schemes, as accommodation is designed to meet the needs of people in a wheelchair and with walking or other difficulties.

  • If an application is unsuccessful, or you are aggrieved by a decision not to award medical or welfare priority, or unhappy with the category of medical priority awarded, an appeal can be made to the Area Housing Manager, Bedworth Area Office, High Street, Bedworth, CV12 8NF.

  • The appeal must be in writing, and clearly state the matter that is felt warrants further consideration, and be accompanied in all cases by a letter from the applicants GP, or other medical advisor, confirming the medical condition and giving reason why the housing circumstances would be improved with alternative housing.

Conditions

  • Anyone aged 50 or over who has a medical or welfare need for this type of accommodation can apply

  • Anyone aged 60 or over, whether or not they have a medical or welfare need, can also apply

  • It is anticipated that anyone working may not necessarily need this type of accommodation, but if the applicant is currently working, consideration may be given dependant on personal circumstance
