How to Apply for Adaptations to the Property

  • If the cost is less than £750, our Repairs Section will issue an order for the works to be done.

  • If the work is over £750, then the Decent Homes Surveyor will visit you to check that the work is necessary and suitable and to check with the Housing Officer whether a transfer to alternative accommodation would be more appropriate.

  • You will receive a 5 year manufacturers warranty with stair lifts and 12 months manufacturers warranty with level access showers.

  • A Home Safety Check is also available to tenants over 55 years of age or disabled.  The Home Safety Co-ordinator will visit your home to assess for hazards which will include falls and tripping hazards and other safety issues.
