Anyone who has claimed housing or council tax benefit and disagrees with the decision made in their assessment can challenge the decision within one month of the date of the original decision.
The authority is responsible for advising claimants of appeal procedures and investigating each appeal.
 

How to Appeal

  • You must appeal within one month of the decision notice.
  • You must submit your appeal in writing or via email.
  • In all cases you must state the reason why you think the decision is wrong. 
 

Conditions

  • Appeals must be received within one month of the date of the decision notice.
