Central Midlands Tenant Association

In March 2002, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council organised a Tenants Conference which was held at the Civic Hall in Bedworth. Tenants and Officers from Rugby Borough Council, Warwick District Council, South Warwickshire Housing Association and Orbit Housing Association were invited. Following the success of the Conference it was decided to arrange meetings inviting tenants groups from each organisation to share information and ideas and the Central Midlands Tenants Association was set up.  the group meet on a bi-monthly basis and assist in the arrangement of the annual conference held throughout Warwickshire.  the aim is to bring together the Central Midlands Local Authorities and Housing Associations together, share best practice, help improve services and promote Tenant Participation.  From these meetings the Central Midlands Tenants Association Annual Conference was borne.

In the last 5 years annual conferences have been held around Warwickshire based on themes.  In 2005 the them was "Positive about Young People" which was about stereo-typing young people.  This year's theme is "Our Community", which will include improving our estates, youth crime etc.  The next conference is on 24 April 2007 at Bulkington Village Centre.

There are several Residents Associations already established within the Borough.  If you would like to set up, or join an existing Residents Association, please contact our Tenant Participation Officer on 024 7637 6493 or write to, Tenant Participation Officer, Housing Services, Council House, Coton Road, Nuneaton, CV11 5AA.
