The council will be responsible for the structure of your home, but you are responsible to insure the contents.
The Council does operate a Tenants Home Contents Scheme, which is open to all of the authority’s tenants and leaseholders. This covers your furniture, TV, clothes, carpets and electrical goods.
How to Claim
Council tenants should contact Crystal Insurance Scheme ('phone 0845 601 7007) in relation to claims on their contents insurance where this was arranged under the Council's scheme.
In the case of any difficulty tenants should contact the Council's Housing Manager.
