Silver Surfers
The Silver Surfers Website is designed to be easy to use on computers and on the TV.
The Silver Surfers Project is about:
- Promoting independent living for older people by providing access to services through the Internet.
- Using information technology to provide easy access to information about facilities for older people.
- Helping older people communicate with each other, with relatives and with local community organisations, by using information technology.
The Older People's Forum
The Older People's Forum is run by older people, for older people, providing information to help them improve their quality of life and live independent lives for as long as possible.
Home Improvement Agency
The Council manages a Home Improvement Agency to help elderly and disabled persons through the process of repairing / adapting their properties. This may include helping to find funds, helping with applications, helping with contractors and checking on work progress. A case worker will be assigned to provide a friendly and supportive service.
