The Council's Children's Team

Following the Children's Act 2004 and the recommendations from the NSPCC, the Council has in place a Children's team to discuss safeguarding children and child protection issues:
Children's Team
Alan Franks - Environmental Services Director (Children's Champion)
Craig Dicken - Corporate Policy Officer (Equality and Diversity)
Peter Lowe - Head of Housing Management
Peter Benham - Assistant Director (Public Amenities)
Representative from Community Finance (TBA)
Kevin Hollis - Sport and Recreation Manager
Each Council service unit also has a designated Welfare Officer. Each Welfare Officer will be the point of contact and advice in their service unit for child protection issues and to make referrals (where appropriate).
