Open Space Assessment
In March 2006 Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council commissioned a consultant to undertake an assessment of open space provision within the Borough in accordance with the principles and recommendations made within Planning Policy Guidance 17, 'Planning for Open Space, Sport and Recreation' (2002) and its companion guide 'Assessing Needs and opportunities' (2002). At the core of this guidance is the notion that:
'Local authorities should undertake robust assessments of the existing and future needs of their communities for open space, sports and recreational facilities.'
