Hedgerow Surveys
Hedgerows form a valuable part of our countryside as they are important wildlife corridors, provide food and shelter to birds and animals such as blackbirds and field mice, and act as shelter belts protecting arable crops from wind damage.
Local volunteers are currently surveying all of the hedgerows within the Borough as part of a wider scheme initiated by Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. Although some identification skills are useful, we do provide training for new surveyors.
If you would like to help or would like to look at the results please see contact details above.
Wildlife Reports
Have you seen any wildlife recently? Whether it be rabbits, birds or foxes we would like to know.
We are interested in finding out about the animals which live in our Borough and also those which just visit.
Many of the Borough’s animals can be found living in our wildlife sites, in fields and hedges, along canals and roads and even in your own back garden. If you see any and would like to let us know then simply copy and paste the following information, fill it in to the best of your ability and send to the Natural Environment Team. All information will be placed in our database and also passed on to relevant local groups and the County Council’s Ecology Unit.
