The Countryside team are part of the Parks and Countryside Team and are responsible for the management of approximately 80 sites within the Borough ranging from Whittleford Park, a 60 hectare open space, through to small road verges and tree plantings.

All the sites are important for the biodiversity of the Borough, often representing a refuge for important wildlife within the urban landscape of the area. These sites are an equally important recreational facility and give off road routes into the middle of both Nuneaton and Bedworth from the edges of the Borough or just somewhere to walk around for a moment of quiet reflection.

Another important role of the Countryside Officers is to comment on larger planning applications that may have a negative effect on the biodiversity of the area and to identify appropriate measures to ensure that there is no negative impact from any development that takes place.

The Countryside Officers are always happy to talk to people who have questions or need advice about nature conservation either within the Borough or in a more general way and can be contacted if you need further advice.
