We regularly monitor our performance so that we know what is happening over a period of time to see where we are achieving or falling short of our targets, where we are improving or where we need to concentrate our efforts.
Types of Performance Indicators
We collect and report on various Performance Indicators at different levels;
National Indicators
The national indicator set will be the only measures on which central government will performance manage outcomes delivered by local government working alone or in partnerships. From April 2008, all other sets of indicators, including best value performance indicators, were abolished.
The definitions of national indicators can be viewed by clicking on the following link http://www.communities.gov.uk/publications/localgovernment/nationalindicatorsupdate
Local Performance Indicators
- These indicators are set locally, i.e. by individual services to reflect local policies and priorities;
- Targets are also set locally;
- Results are monitored and reported departmentally.
- The service standards can be viewed or downloaded below.
