Crime and Disorder

Statistically, Warwickshire remains one of the safest places to be in the United Kingdom.  Nevertheless there is a level of crime across the County which needs to be reduced by statutory agencies and local communities working together.

Crime and Disorder

The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 created Community Safety Partnerships across England and Wales.

Each partnership is based on a local authority area and is charged with reducing crime and the fear of crime.  Nuneaton and Bedworth Safer Community Partnership (NABSCOP) is made up of representatives drawn from statutory and voluntary agencies:

The Act requires the "Responsible Authorities" in each area to carry out a strategic assessment each year which assists in developing annually refreshed strategies.

Priorities are identified for the Partnership to focus on in the coming year which reflect the changing needs of the community. The Community Safety pages of this site provide useful information on how the partnership is performing against their vision to:
'make Nuneaton and Bedworth a safer place for everyone, where the day-to-day quality of life is not marred by the fear of crime.'
