Vehicle Crime

 

Theft of a car is more than just a financial burden.  The inconvenience of not having a vehicle available to do the normal day to day routine things such as taking the children to school, doing the weekly shop, etc are all things we take for granted. It is only when the convenience of a car which we rely on so heavily is taken away that the full impact of having a vehicle stolen is felt.

 

In the Nuneaton and Bedworth area police have been working with the Nuneaton Credit Union on a project to reduce the chances of people becoming the victim of car crime. The area has had a problem of vehicles being stolen, mostly older cars that have less security. However the Nuneaton Credit Union holds stocks of steering wheel locks which, in partnership with Warwickshire Police, they are now offering for sale at a greatly reduced price to help reduce the threat of car crime.

Anyone in the area with a car that is more than five years old is eligible to buy one of the Autoloks, which are seconds, for £12 (they normally retail at £65).
