Warwickshire Local Area Agreements (LAA)
The Local Area Agreement (LAA) is a radical new approach to the way Councils and other partners deliver services to the people of Warwickshire, including the residents of Nuneaton and Bedworth. It involves a three-year agreement between Partners in Warwickshire and Central Government, which will run from April 2007 to March 2010, aimed at ensuring the delivery of better outcomes for the people of Warwickshire.
LAA’s exist within every district in Warwickshire and the Local Strategic Partnership will address the Priorities of the Sustainable Community Plan and that of the Nuneaton and Bedworth LAA to:
- narrow the gap affecting vulnerable communities and people and help Nuneaton and Bedworth catch up with the rest of Warwickshire.
- focus effort and resources on people, families and communities that require greater levels of support and intervention to bring them up to the county average;
- focus on the priorities for improvement to services that are used by everybody to improve outcomes for all;
- improve access to service provision within local communities and the accountability of service providers to local people;
- sharpen partner relationships by ensuring that there is a strong focus on outcomes, together with clear responsibilities and accountabilities;
- build on the success we have already achieved in the Quality of Life indicators and continue to further support the local economy.
The Nuneaton and Bedworth LAA commenced in April 2007.
