It aims to help in four ways:

  • it outlines the rules that the Council must follow.

  • it alerts companies to the opportunities to supply the Council.

  • it explains how to tender for the Council's business.

  • it advises the further contacts within the Council that companies may need to make.

This information has been produced to help improve communications with potential suppliers and ultimately produce Best Value from the Council's tendering processes.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council works with the West Midlands Centre of Excellence (WMCoE) hosted by Worcestershire County Council, which is one of nine regional centres for England created by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) to support Councils in delivering the National Procurement Strategy.

Procurement Strategy

Sets out how the Council ensures openness and fairness in allocating contracts, and achieves value for money whilst complying with all legal requirements.

You can download a copy of the Procurement Strategy & Policy or E-procurement Strategy & Policy below for further details.

Electronic Trading

The Council aims to increase the levels of electronic business, which will include electronic tendering, ordering and invoicing.

The aim is to reduce the Council's, supplier's and contractor's costs associated with the procurement process and the costs of normal commercial trading.

The Council will seek to work with suppliers and contractors, which can help deliver its E-Procurement Strategy.

Be aware that all orders will be subject to the Council's Standard Conditions of Purchase. For full details see below.
