Tattooing, piercing & electrolysis licences
The Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 requires that all persons that carry out tattooing, ear piercing and electrolysis be registered with the local authority. Officers will visit the premises to ensure they comply with the requirements of both the Act and any local Bylaws.
How to Apply
- Download and complete the form below and submit along with the following fees;
- For tattooing licence £260, piercing £76 and electrolysis £76.
- These fees are separate and if one business conducts all three activities – all three licence fees must be paid.
- Once the application has been processed and the premises inspected and approved, a licence will be posted to you.
- This is not an annual licence.
Conditions
- Licences will be awarded after an inspection.
- New premises are subject to a Health & safety inspection.
- The premises are subject to a health & safety inspection on a regular basis depending upon their risk status.
